WeatherWhy(r)
WeatherWhys (R): We are at the height of meteorological summer, which runs from June to August. These three months mark the warmest quarter on the calendar and are not based upon the position of the Earth in relation to the sun. The end of July into early August is also when normal temperatures reach their maximum. Although incoming solar radiation is gradually decreasing at this time of year, the heat retained by the Earth continues to exceed the heat lost until about the second week in August.
